I’m Sarah and welcome to my kitchen.
I live by 3 basic food rules:
- Fresh is best
- Everything tastes better when you eat it with good people and/or good wine
- It IS possible to make a delicious meal after a long workday, but there is a 99.9% chance I will be in my pajamas
In this world of kale, ancient grains, and acai bowls, my goal is to make eating well actually enjoyable. Healthy foods are important, but if they don’t taste good you either won’t eat them or won’t eat them often enough.
I’ve always loved food, and I love it even more now that I’m cooking for our little household. I’ve learned my way through the kitchen with trial-and-error, food blogs and cookbooks, and countless episodes of Chopped. Friends and family started asking for recipes and I was searching for a way to track my favorite recipes, so I decided a blog would be the perfect fit. But why’d I name it Salt Jar?
My wonderful husband, Dan (who also doubles as head cheese-grater and master dishwasher) and I live in a small town in southern NJ.
My sous-chef, Shea, is always waiting at my feet to help, especially when steak or sweet potatoes are involved.
