My favorite ultimate turkey chili recipe has a little bit of spice, a hearty amount of beans, and is packed with corn and tomatoes.
I make a lot of chili over the winter. The ingredients are always in my pantry or fridge for those I don’t really want to cook but I want to eat something that tastes really food days.
This recipe has been my go-to for the past few years and has gotten us through many snow days, football games, and busy days when I know cooking is not going to be an option.
One of my favorite things about chili is choosing the toppings. Some of my favorites: cheese (duh), sour cream, scallions, cilantro, and Fritos!

Notes
To make this recipe without a slow cooker, use a large pot to cook turkey and onion. Then add remaining ingredients plus an additional cup of chicken broth. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes.

TERESA CROSS says
Isn’t the garlic supposed to be cooked along with the onion and turkey?
Sarah says
Hi Teresa! I typically add the raw garlic to the slow cooker because it cooks and softens during the 6 hour cooking time. If you add the garlic to the hot pan at the same time as the onion and turkey, it will likely burn and get bitter. You can certainly add it for the last minute of sauteeing the onions and meat if you’d prefer, just be sure to stir constantly so it doesn’t get charred. This would be ideal if you’re cooking the chili on the stovetop. Enjoy!
